The short answer
TacBoard gives a graduation party, senior night or all-night grad party a phone number and a QR code. Family texts throwback photos ahead of time, classmates add photos during the event, and everything plays on a TV or projector. No one installs an app. A single event is $49 with QR code only or $159 with a text number. Schools and booster clubs that run events all year use the $99/month plan.
- Graduation parties
- Throwbacks from relatives plus live photos from friends
- Senior nights & banquets
- Team or class photos on the gym or cafeteria screen
- Project graduation
- A screen students fill themselves all night
- Schools & boosters
- One number for every event at $99/month
Graduation parties at home or in a hall
The best part of a graduation party slideshow is the photos the graduate has never seen: grandma's prints of their first day of kindergarten, an aunt's photos from family vacations, a coach's photo from freshman year. Collecting them is the hard part.
With TacBoard you send relatives the number a few weeks before the party. They text whatever they have, including photos of old prints taken with their phone. On the day, those throwbacks play on the TV alongside photos friends text during the party. The graduate leaves with a gallery of hundreds of photos, many of which they have never seen.
- Put the TV where people gather: near the food, the cake or the graduate's display table.
- Text a few dozen photos yourself before the party so the screen is full from the first guest.
- Put a sign with the number next to the guest book or card box.
Senior nights, banquets and project graduation
Schools and parent groups use TacBoard for the events where every parent is already filming and taking photos:
- Senior night for football, volleyball, basketball, band and other activities. Load each senior's photo in advance and let families add more during the ceremony.
- Sports and activity banquets. See awards nights and banquets for program tips.
- Project graduation and all-night grad parties. Chaperones and students fill the screen all night, and parents at home can see the gallery link.
- Prom, homecoming and school dances. See school dances and events.
- Senior breakfasts and class reunions. For alumni gatherings, see reunions.
Photos stream to the screen, but the gallery is private and shared only by link. An automatic content filter checks every photo and message. Anything it flags waits in a queue where you approve or delete it, and you can block a sender. That gives a staff member or parent volunteer full control over what appears in front of students and families.
Setting it up
- 1
Pick a plan
For a home party, the $49 QR Code plan is often enough because most students scan QR codes without thinking. If grandparents will be sending photos, the $159 SMS & QR Code plan adds a text number.
- 2
Share the number early
Send it to relatives and the graduate's friends two to three weeks before the event and ask for throwbacks.
- 3
Print signs
Make signs and table cards with your number and QR code in the free sign shop.
- 4
Connect the screen
Use a laptop and an HDMI cable to a TV or projector, open the gallery and press Display Live. The setup guides cover TVs, projectors and casting.
- 5
Download the gallery
Hosts download the whole gallery in one click. It makes a good gift for the graduate and for the yearbook staff.
Getting the throwback photos in
The throwbacks are what make a graduation slideshow memorable, and they take a little planning. Most of them are in printed albums or on older relatives' phones.
- Send the request three weeks out. Text or email relatives the number with a short note, such as: "We're making a slideshow for Jordan's graduation party. Please text any photos you have of Jordan to (555) 555-5555."
- Name the photos you want. First day of school, sports seasons, family trips, dance recitals, birthdays and grandparents' photos.
- Make it easy to send old prints. Tell people to lay the print flat in good light and photograph it with their phone.
- Send one reminder a week before. Most photos arrive the day after the reminder.
- Add your own. Upload the best photos from the family's albums through the QR code page, which keeps the original quality.
On the day, guests watch the graduate grow up on the screen while new photos of the party join the loop. Graduates often say the gallery is their favorite gift.

Frequently asked questions

No. Guests never download an app or create an account.
Can grandparents send old printed photos?
Yes. They photograph the print with their phone and text it in. For full quality, they can upload a scan through the QR code page.
Can a school control what appears on screen?
An automatic content filter checks every photo and message. Anything it flags waits in a queue where you approve or delete it, and you can block a sender.
Can we use it for several school events?
Yes. The Unlimited plan at $99/month keeps one number active for every event while you are subscribed. One-time plans cover a single event.
Can students send videos?
TacBoard collects photos and short text messages. It does not accept video uploads.
How long do we have the photos?
Your event number accepts texts until 30 days after the event date. The gallery itself does not expire: you can view, share and download it for as long as you like.
