Barn & rustic wedding venues

A live guest photo wall for barn wedding venues

Most barn venues book a wedding nearly every weekend in season. Give every one of them a screen that fills with guests' photos, without new equipment or extra staff.

The short answer

For $99 a month, TacBoard gives your barn venue one permanent text number and QR code for guest photos. Hang the signs once and set up a TV or projector in the reception space. Every wedding then gets a live photo stream that guests fill by text, with no app, and every couple leaves with a gallery of their guests' photos. In a season with a wedding every weekend, that works out to about $25 per wedding.

Why it suits a barn venue

Barn weddings are relaxed and guest-driven. People wander between the ceremony site, the barn, the fire pit and the dance floor, taking photos on their phones the whole time. A screen in the barn that fills with those photos becomes a gathering point, especially during the hour between the ceremony and dinner.

Barn venues also have the guest mix where texting matters most: grandparents, rural family and friends who will not install an app for one evening. Texting a photo to a number works for all of them.

  • Hang it once. Mount a TV on a beam or a wall near the bar, or use a projector on the loft wall or a sheet. The number on your signs never changes.
  • No staff time. Whoever opens the barn turns on the laptop and presses Display Live. The stream runs on its own.
  • Couples feel the difference. They get a photo wall during the reception and hundreds of candid photos afterwards, before the photographer's gallery arrives.

Setting up a barn for the live stream

  1. 1

    Pick your screen

A 55 to 75 inch TV near the bar or the dance floor works for most barns. For a big wall, a projector is cheaper and dramatic after sunset. See projector setup and laptop to TV.

  2. 2

    Sort out internet

The laptop needs Wi-Fi or a phone hotspot. Guests need cell signal to text, and the QR code page also works over your guest Wi-Fi. Test it with Try TacBoard on a busy weekend.

  3. 3

    Print permanent signs

Use the free sign shop for a framed sign at the barn doors and cards for the bar. Match them to your venue's look.

  4. 4

    Add it to your packages

List the photo wall in your package sheet and on your tour. Mention that guests text photos and that couples receive the full gallery.

  5. 5

    Run each wedding

Before the wedding, preload the couple's engagement photos. On the day, press Display Live. Afterwards, download the photos for the couple and clear the stream for the next weekend.

What your couples get

Couples choose barn venues for the feeling of the day, and a live photo wall adds to it without adding work for them. Here is what you can tell them on a tour:

  • Their own photos on the screen from the start. Send us your engagement photos and they will be playing as your guests walk in.
  • Every guest can join in. Guests text a photo to the number on the sign, with no app. Grandparents too.
  • Hundreds of candid photos, the next week. We send you every photo your guests took, long before your photographer's gallery arrives.
  • Nothing for you to set up. It is already on our screen.

Couples share those candid photos widely, and many of them show your barn. That is free marketing from every wedding you host.
